MS Mondays- My Third Fundraiser Recap & Weekend Matters!

March 05, 2018 by Stacy McAllister

Monday....At least we get to start our week off with a run and a cup of coffee (or sleep or kitty cuddles)?! I've got a new tempo pace mileage to tackle today --> 9 miles at goal marathon pace! This is my first of three 9 mile GMP workouts and hoping I can get it in outside (but it looks like it may be snowy, so it may need to be moved to the treadmill) this morning!

How was your weekend?! Because I had Friday off, we went down to Boulder (~3 hour drive) for the day to get some shopping and city-life in (and a trader joes trip ofcourse...why can't we have one here in Steamboat?!?). I didn't purchase anything, besides making a dent in my wallet at TJ's and also got a delicious lunch at Five Guys. How was your weekend?!

I had my third fundraiser during the month of February -> Donation-based yoga classes. There were a total of 4 scheduled, however only 3 took place (thank you blizzard). I had high hopes to get a lot of donations and thought that it would be super easy, however I was definitely wrong with one of those! It was a really easy fundraiser (I promoted it in the paper & on my social media channels & on the local radio), however was not as successful as I would have liked. The first class was the most successful with 10 participants, but the other two classes only had 2 participants each. It was also a bit of a bummer that the class was promoted with "donate what you can", which meant that many didn't donate anything (which is fine and great for our community to offer these, however if you have a fundraising goal maybe don't put all your eggs in one basket). Overall, it was a great idea, however was not the most profitable. $100 raised.
